This newspaper (Reporters Tian Long and Feng Guangyu) In recent days, affected by Typhoon "Hypochondria," this year's eighth typhoon, our city has experienced frequent rainfall, with some areas experiencing heavy to torrential downpours. On August 1st, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Xu Zhi led a delegation to Wuwei City to oversee typhoon, flash flood, and geological disaster prevention efforts, and to conduct a "River and Lake Chief System" lake patrol. City leader Xiang Jihui participated.

Zhusi Lake in Wuwei City is the largest natural lake in Wuhu and bears significant flood control pressure every year during the flood season. Xu Zhi inspected the water level along the lake, listened to reports on duty and emergency response, supervised and inspected flood control and typhoon preparedness efforts, and conducted "River and Lake Chief System" lake patrols. He noted that according to meteorological forecasts, "Hypochondria" will gradually weaken from today, but significant rainfall will still occur in the city from August 1st to 2nd. All departments at all levels across the city must ensure full on-duty deployment, strengthen consultation and analysis, provide timely warnings, and strictly implement the pre-disaster warning, "call-response," and follow-up feedback mechanisms. They must strictly implement flood control emergency response requirements, focus on weak areas, prioritize key areas of prevention, and comprehensively enhance flood control capabilities to ensure the safety of rivers and the flood season.

In Jianli Village and Lianhua Village in Kunshan Town, Wuwei City, Xu Zhi walked to the riverside and climbed a steep slope to conduct on-site supervision and inspection of flash flood disaster prevention and geological disaster prevention efforts. He emphasized that continuous heavy rainfall can easily trigger flash floods and geological disaster risks. Risk hazards must be rapidly identified and addressed, including re-inspections of critical infrastructure such as water, electricity, gas, roads, and networks, as well as related key areas. Areas prone to flash floods and geological disasters, as well as key areas such as river, lake, and reservoir embankments, must also be re-inspected. Any identified risks must be addressed immediately. We must make comprehensive preparations for emergency rescue, improve emergency plans and transfer and evacuation plans, and prepare for the relocation and resettlement of the people in advance when necessary. We must strengthen flood prevention and emergency response capacity training for cadres at all levels to ensure that we can be deployed, support and win at critical moments, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property and the stability of the overall social situation.
